The teachers
Sunyoung Kim
Sunyong has been teaching students from various countries, including the USA, Korea, China, Japan, Europe, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, and the Philippines, both online and in person. Over the past eight years, she has collaborated with well-known Korean entertainment companies to provide idol training. Her main expertise is in vocal training, and she has trained students to become professional singers.
While working with major entertainment companies and recruiting talented students, she noticed a significant gap for beginners. Many students had the potential to become great singers, but their skills were not yet at the minimum level required to enter major entertainment agencies.
Therefore, in 2016, she decided to establish a training company in Seoul. The goal of this company was to help beginner-level students reach an intermediate level. Her company was successful, attracting students from all over the world. She also hired several vocal and dance instructors to support their training.
However, in 2019, her husband was recruited as a professor in the Department of Chemistry at Umeå University in Sweden. As a result, they decided to relocate to Umeå.
Currently she is working as a vocal instructor at Folkuniversitetet and she also teaches vocal lessons online to students worldwide.
She has worked as a vocal trainer for members of OH MY GIRL, Lovelyz, I.O.I, Gugudan, KARD, AOA, Cherry Bullet, Billlie, Young Posse, BADVILLAIN, A8TON and many more.
Jongmin "Jco" Kim
Jco (Jongmin Kim) attended a sports university in Korea before switching his major to the “Department of Dance Art” at Seoul Arts College, and later studied Dance Pedagogy as a Master’s degree at Dongguk University.
This is where he seriously began his life as a dancer and dance teacher.
In Korea, he gained experience teaching idol trainees in various entertainment and dance studios, and also worked on choreographies with several idols. At the same time, he participated in numerous dance battles and performance competitions in Korea, winning many of them.
Afterward, he went to Sapporo, Hokkaido (Japan) to teach K-pop dance, before returning to Korea to teach as a lecturer at Seoul Arts Occupational Training College.
He then moved to Germany and completed his Master of Arts in Dance Composition at the Folkwang University of the Arts. Since 2015, he has been teaching various genres such as K-Pop, Hip-Hop and Modern Dance in Germany.
Currently, he runs a dance studio called Town-K and also works as a Hip-Hop instructor at Millennium Dance Complex.
